ROBIN CAMP/Lebanon Express Firefighters from around the state completed a week long training course in Sweethome Friday with hands on exercises on land provided by Cascade Timber Consulting. Over 200 firefighters representing the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife, and the US Forest Service. Firefighters attended classes at Sweethome High School and camped in the football field for a week. They learned teamwork, techniques and safety protocols. Tankers kept the roads wet to keep the fire from jumping while portable foldout 1500 gallon water tanks provided water for fire suppression.
